2013 Fundraising Events

JANUARY

January 1st – February 1st

Help Jimbo’s Squad and have fun watching the Superbowl by supporting Jimbo’s Squad’s 3rd Annual Superbowl Football Pool Fundraiser. Pool Blocks require a $50 donation. Column and Row numbers will be changed every quarter for more chances to win. Winnings will be broken out as follows:

1st Quarter Winner – $500
Halftime Winner – $1000
3rd Quarter Winner – $500
Final Game Winner – $2000

The final $1000 is donated to Jimbo’s Squad and our efforts to support Fox Chase Cancer Center patients.

FEBRUARY

Jimbo’s Squad’s first assignment this year – the 2013 Kick Off Party! Join fellow Troops, family and friends on Saturday, February 23rd at Slainte Pub & Grill (3000 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104) for a casual night of cocktails and camaraderie. Jimbo’s Squad President, Brian McShane will represent the Squad behind the bar! Doors open at 8pm and the cost per person is $10, which includes appetizers and drink specials. All proceeds benefit Jimbo’s Squad.

MARCH

Celebrate St. Patty’s Day and train for the BSR all in one day. Come out to Paddy Whack’s, Comly Road on Saturday March 16th and join us for the 1st annual St. Patrick’s Day Dash. This 5K fun run or if you chose 1 Mile Whacky Walk will start at Paddy Whacks and end with an all-day party at the finish line. Registration fee covers run costs, food, drinks and live music. Come out and celebrate with us for a great cause.

APRIL

Broad Street Run Training – Get ready for the 2013 Broad Street Run with Jimbo’s Squad recommended training routes. Join hundreds of troops as they prepare the 10-mile trip down Broad Street. Become an official Jimbo’s Squad or cheer the troops along with our Mile 9ers at Broad & Pattison. This year, Broad Street Run organizers have changed the registration process to a lottery system. As this may prevent some runners from official entry through the lottery, you will have the opportunity to register for the race as a member of Jimbo’s Squad.

MAY

Jimbo’s Squad holds our biggest fundraiser of the year surrounding the
Philadelphia Broad Street Run. We start off with 2013 Bulldog Bash on Saturday May 4th. Baskets of goods and services donated by local and corporate businesses will be auctioned off via traditional silent auction. Come out and support Jimbo’s Squad for a fun afternoon.

Once you recover from the Bulldog Bash, come out to the Philadelphia Broad Street Run on Sunday May 5th and run alongside our 250+ troops. If running is not your thing, then join the Mile 9ers at Broad & Pattison. Over 100 supporters set-up under the Jimbo’s Squad tent and cheer on the squad as they run towards the finish line.

After the race the celebration continues at the BSR after party. The goal of the after party is to just celebrate the hard work dedicated to Jimbo’s Squad & Fox Chase Cancer Center patients. As soon as the location is confirmed details will be posted.

AUGUST

Join us at the Jersey Shore for Jimbo’s Squad’s Beach Bash. Sun, fun and a great cause. More details to follow.

DECEMBER

Jimbo’s Squad ends the year with the most memorable event of the year. The Troops head to Fox Chase Cancer Center and set-up shop outside the Chemotherapy Infusion Center where blankets, pillows and jackets are given to patients while they are receiving treatment.
